Celebrating 2 Years of Ever Human Therapy

Today marks two years since I opened the doors to Ever Human Therapy—a dream that has grown from the inside out, shaped by years of experience, reflection, and a deep commitment to both clients and clinicians.
I’ve spent the better part of 20 years in the mental health field, with over a decade in private practice. Like many therapists, I never stopped working during the pandemic. In fact, my already full practice overflowed—and hasn’t slowed down since.
But behind the scenes, like so many of my colleagues, I was quietly unraveling. I struggled with anxiety, isolation, and what I now recognize were creeping symptoms of depression. Exhaustion turned to burnout. I’d celebrate the rare moment I found time to shower twice in one week. Two days of recovery became necessary after long weeks of seeing 10+ clients a day. Professional loneliness began to settle in. The world was “moving on” from the pandemic—but I was still holding it all, for everyone else.
Therapists are the quiet vaults—the silent holders of others’ stories, pain, and hopes. We witness transformation daily, yet can’t share the extraordinary work we’re part of. We can’t say, “You won’t believe the growth I witnessed this week,” or talk about the inspiring, unique, and brave people we sit with every day. We just keep going—because that’s what we signed up for. But that doesn’t mean it should come at the cost of our own well-being.
That’s where Ever Human Therapy comes in.
EHT was born out of this lived experience—out of the knowing that something has to change. I wanted to create a space that prioritizes the therapist, knowing that when clinicians are deeply supported, clients receive even better care.
At EHT, growth doesn’t come from piling on more clients—it comes from refining your skills, knowing your limits, honoring your boundaries. I’m hopeful it’s a place where your income reflects the depth of what you hold—not just the length of your caseload. Where you can take time off and still feel secure. Where future planning and bonuses aren’t vague, distant dreams. Where you're not left in the isolation of a private practice, but rather have access to your own quality professional care too.
Over the past two years, I’ve poured my heart into bringing this vision to life–and I haven’t done it alone. I’m endlessly grateful for our incredible clinical director, Lynn Coleman, who has walked alongside me, strategizing and dreaming up creative ways to support our clinicians. She has been a constant support through all this. I’m also deeply thankful for our wonderful administrative assistant, Adam Groff, who may be newer to the team but has already made a profound impact through his steady support and kindness. And to every therapist who has taken a chance on this practice–thank you. Your dedication, warmth, and passion are the heartbeat of Ever Human Therapy. This place wouldn’t be what it is without you.
To the clinicians who keep showing up.
To the clients whose courage inspires us.
To the belief that caring for the caregiver changes lives –
Here’s to many more years of building something human, together.
