Spring Renewal: When Upheaval Becomes an Opportunity

However you feel about the winter, spring is coming—in some places it’s already here!—and with it comes renewal and new growth. Similarly, if you are feeling like you’re in a time of upheaval, know that you can build something new out of that.

In Untamed, Glennon Doyle writes, “Destruction is essential to construction.” And sometimes, that destruction isn’t our choice.

Losing a job, facing an unexpected career shift, or experiencing change we didn’t ask for—it can feel unfair, overwhelming, and out of our control. But as painful as it is, it also creates an opening. A space where something new can take root.

"It is easier to call us broken and dismiss us than to consider that we are responding appropriately to a broken world." -Glennon Doyle

What if you’re not broken? What if you're simply responding to a system, a workplace, or a situation that no longer fits?

They say when one door closes, another opens—but the space in between can feel uncertain. That’s where the work of rebuilding begins.

Get Clarity – Reflect on what excites and motivates you. What are your priorities? What kind of work feels meaningful?

Get Ready – Connect with like-minded people, update your online presence, and explore new opportunities.

Grow Your Skills – Invest in yourself, build on your strengths, and embrace growth—train for the next step.

Challenge Yourself – Take small, intentional steps—participate in a skills group or a webinar, attend an event you’ve never attended before. The unexpected may lead to your next great chapter.

Seek Support – You don’t have to navigate this alone. Our coaching team at EHT is here to guide you.

If someone else created the destruction, you still get to have a say in what comes next. And maybe—just maybe—this is the beginning of something even better.
