At Ever Human Therapy, we’re raising awareness about Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) – a neurodevelopmental condition that affects attention, impulse control, and emotional regulation.
ADHD is often associated with children, but it also affects adults – sometimes in ways that are harder to recognize.
• In 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻, ADHD may show up as hyperactivity, impulsivity, or trouble focusing in school.
• In 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀, symptoms can include difficulty with organization, managing time, staying on task, or following through on commitments, as well as irritability and relationship difficulties.
There are also important gender differences in how ADHD presents. Boys and men are more likely to display hyperactive or impulsive symptoms, while girls and women often experience inattentive symptoms – such as daydreaming, forgetfulness, or internal restlessness – that can be easily overlooked. These differences can delay diagnosis and support, especially for women.
ADHD is not a character flaw – it’s a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how the brain manages attention and behavior. With understanding, support, and effective treatment – including therapy, lifestyle strategies, and sometimes medication – people with ADHD can build on their strengths and live balanced, fulfilling lives.
This month, let’s work to reduce stigma and increase understanding. Every mind deserves compassion, curiosity, and care.
